How DataNests Works

DataNests is a web-based platform that allows you to connect data sources, create dashboards, and share insights with your team and clients.

Here's how it works:

  • You connect your data sources—DataNests does not automatically access or store any data without your explicit connection.
  • We use industry-leading AI-powered tools to help you build queries and optimize your dashboards.
  • Your dashboards and reports are automatically saved so you can access them anytime.

Your Data, Your Control

You control your data. Your dashboards and reports remain private unless you choose to share them.

We do not auto-share anything—you decide when and how your data is shared.

Industry-Leading Security

  • Encrypted storage: All data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
  • Hosted on secure infrastructure: We use Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)with industry-standard security.
  • Regular backups: Your data is securely backed up daily.

Google Data Access and Use

When you connect your Google account to DataNests, we access certain Google Analytics data to provide you with dashboards, reports, and insights. This section explains what data we access, how we use it, and how you can revoke access at any time.

Data We Access from Google

DataNests uses the analytics.readonly scope to access your Google Analytics properties. Depending on the properties you choose to connect, we may access:

  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4) properties and related configuration information.
  • Aggregated analytics data such as users, sessions, page views, events, conversions, and traffic sources.
  • Other non-personally identifiable metrics and dimensions made available through the Google Analytics Reporting APIs.

We do not access your Google account password and we do not access any other Google products or data outside of the scopes you explicitly grant during the OAuth consent flow.

How We Use Google Analytics Data

We use the Google Analytics data we access solely for the purpose of delivering analytics and reporting features to you within DataNests. Specifically, we use this data to:

  • Generate dashboards, charts, and reports that help you understand your website or app performance.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as traffic, engagement, and conversions.
  • Support features like multi-property comparison, trend analysis, and other insights available in your DataNests account.

We do not:

  • Sell your Google Analytics data to third parties.
  • Use your Google Analytics data for advertising or marketing on behalf of other clients.
  • Share identifiable analytics data between different customers of DataNests.

Data Storage and Retention

To provide fast and reliable reporting, DataNests may temporarily store or cache your analytics data on our servers. We also store the access tokens and refresh tokens required to connect to your Google Analytics account. These tokens are stored securely and are used only to retrieve the data necessary to power your dashboards and reports.

We retain stored analytics data only for as long as it is needed to provide our services and as permitted by law. If you close your account or request deletion of your data, we will delete or anonymize your stored analytics data within a reasonable timeframe, subject to any legal obligations we may have.

Revoking Access to Your Google Account

You can revoke DataNests' access to your Google account at any time by:

Once access is revoked, DataNests will no longer be able to retrieve new data from your Google Analytics properties. You may also contact us to request deletion of any previously stored analytics data associated with your account.

Deleting Your Data

If you would like us to delete your account and associated analytics data, you can contact us using the details below. After verifying your identity, we will delete or anonymize your stored data within a reasonable period, unless we are required to retain certain information for legal or regulatory reasons.
